From Aftonbladet today. Now the battle over "Kristina från Duvemåla" will be settled.
Today Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus appeared in court in Stockholm. There the longlasting fight over who really wrote the script for "Kristina från Duvemåla" should finally be decided.
But the two parties - Björn and Benny on one side - and the playwright, Carl Johan Seth, on the other - didn't manage to reach a conclusion.
- It was at times a hostile mood in the court room, says Aftonbladet's reporter Martin Söderström.
That is why it now is up to the court to decide who actually wrote the script for "Kristina från Duvemåla". The trial is expected to start during 2006.
Björn and Benny's lawyer Rolf Andersson asked for a two week extension to complete his evidence. November 17 is the last day when the complements must be ready.
MILLIONS ARE AT STAKEThe fight, which has been going on for 10 years, originates from the claim from Carl Johan Seth that he wrote the script. Now, when the musical is going to go on export to the US, Seth feels he is losing out on millions.
Björn and Benny, however, claims that the script Carl Johan Seth wrote was changed so much before the opening of the musical so there was nothing left.
Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson quickly left the court room. When Aftonbladet asked them how this court case is going to affect the US-launch Benny Andersson only shortly answered:
- I don't know.
